Frequency Asked Question
In General

I have been a photographer for over 30+ years. The last 10 years I have focused on actor headshots and family portraits. Also spent 5 years photographing sports and all media marketing type photos of the teams. While I do not have my own studio and prefer to shoot out on location, I can get access to studio type locations.

I find my happy place when I am out in nature photographing wildlife and landscapes. I am blessed to live outside the GSM and go as often as I can. I also love to travel and explore all the amazing beauty by God’s design.

While truly the gear does not matter, I do however have all professional camera bodies, lenses and lights. I promise you I have the right tools to get any job done anywhere. I do shoot with Sony and Nikon mirrorless cameras.

I tend to have a variety of styles which actually lends itself to all my clients as each are different. So it depends on the mood and look you are going for. I like the light and airy natural style but also enjoy a dark and moody photoshoot as well. I love to provide black and white images at times as they just look and feel timless to me.

I encourage you to look through all my entire website and view all the photo galleries. By doing this you will get a feeling of how I shoot. I had one client tell me they wanted me to do their photos because of my love of nature and they love the outdoors and so their session was amazing outdoors.

There are occasions where at times photographers and clients are not a fit and that is ok. We all have our own style and personalites. But I try my best to make every session as stress free, relaxed and fun as possible while being professional. I work one on one with each client to cater each shoot to you as an individual. We are a team and I am always here for you!

When you’re ready, go to the contact page and fill out the form or simply email me. I’ll send a questionnaire, followed by a contract and an invoice for your session. A signed contract and an initial payment is required to hold your date. The initial payment is non-refundable and will be applied towards your session fee. When everything is returned to me, you are officially on my calendar! The remaining balance has to be paid in full before he session will take place. I will also send you a welcome guide telling you all the information on how to prepare for our session.

Currently I accept venmo and  paypal. If we meet in person, I can also accept cash.

Rescheduling is fine as long as it is done in a reasonable time frame! I get it, things happen, life get’s in the way and the weather can be unpredictable at times. If things are looking questionable for our shoot, I’ll usually reach out to you that morning and we can come up with a game plan. However, Last-minute cancellations, reschedules, or no-shows may forfeit the deposit.

Please arrive within 5-10 minutes of your scheduled shoot start time. My major pet peeve is people who are not on time. So, please plan ahead, know where you are supposed to be, when you are supposed to be there, how to get there and plan accordingly and allow extra time because there will always be traffic. Your session will last the amount of time you booked and paid for.

Frequency Asked Question
For Headshot Sessions

If you are a professional in any field, then investing in a quality headshot is a must. Your headshot is one of the two first things anyone will see about you, and it’s hard to stand out in a crowded marketplace if you have an average or boring looking headshot. Professional headshots can help you stand out from the competition. I can create a high-quality image that makes people remember you and want to work with you.

Professional Uses

  • LinkedIn profile – Probably the most important place for a polished, professional headshot.

  • Company website – Especially if you’re in a role where clients or partners will see your bio.

  • Email signature – Some people like to include a small headshot for a more personal touch.

  • Business cards – Less common, but can be useful for networking-heavy industries.

  • Press releases / Speaker bios – If you’re presenting at conferences or featured in media.

Creative/Entertainment Industry

  • Acting / Modeling portfolios – Essential. Often need a few different styles (commercial, theatrical, etc.).

  • Casting websites – Like Backstage, Casting Networks, or Actors Access.

  • IMDB / Personal website – For branding and exposure.

Social Media

  • Instagram / Twitter / Facebook – A solid headshot can make your profile stand out.

  • YouTube / Twitch / TikTok profiles – If you’re a content creator, a clean headshot helps build trust and brand consistency.

Dating Apps

  • It might not be your main photo, but a professional or nicely lit headshot gives a clean first impression.

Other Situations

  • Online resumes or portfolios – Especially if you’re in freelancing or client-facing industries.

  • Virtual events / Webinars – Sometimes used in promotional materials or Zoom profiles.

  • University or alumni networks – For directories or mentoring platforms.

First, arrive ready to have your photo taken. After a quick once over with a mirror, we will begin. We will have already talked about your view and the type of photo you need, the type of background you want before you arrive. So once we start, I will gently walk you through how to stand, how to look, how to smile, what to do with your hands, feet and body. I will explain my methods using hand signals. I promise everything will be alright and its ok to be nervous. I will do my best to calm your nerves and if you help me by being relaxed we will get amazing headshots. After the shoot, I will send you a gallery with photos for you to pick the number of photos your package required. You will also have the opportunity to purchase additional headshots.

Make sure to get plenty of rest the night before, stay hydrated, and avoid excessive sun exposure or drastic changes to your appearance (like getting a new haircut) right before the session. Clean, moisturized skin tends to photograph well, so consider basic grooming and skincare routines. Make sure to brush your hair and your teeth. Give your entire face a once over in the mirror and be sure to check for anything hidden or unforeseen. Yes, I can “fix” certain unexpected things in PS, but please make the effort to be your absolute best!

Corporates:
Please wear what you would normally wear if and when you meet new clients. For a complete formal look, I would recommend a combo of shirt/blouse/blazer. Keeping jewelry to a minimum is key, studs or small earrings and simple necklaces will work.

Actors & Models:
I would suggest bring as many t-shirts, long sleeved and short sleeved shirts, jumpers, jackets etc as you can. We may not use all of the items, but we will discuss what works and what doesn’t and what works best with the style, lighting and backdrop.

GENERAL RULE: Single or block colors tend to work best either fairly neutral (black, white, grey, beige, brown) or mid-tone / pastel (blues, reds, oranges, greens etc.). It’s usually best to avoid bright patterns and logos on clothing as they can date very quickly as well as being quite distracting!

By the time the actual headshot session starts you will know every step we will make and all that will happen and all that is expected.

Yes, basic retouching services are  included in all the packages. Basic retouching typically involves adjustments to skin tone, blemish removal, and minor touch-ups. Extensive retouching may incur an additional fee.

No problem, I understand that most people do not like standing in front of a camera. I will do everything I can to make you enjoy the process.

I strive to make people feel comfortable in front of the camera.

I elevate clients from feeling nervous, anxious, or not photogenic, to an empowering headshot experience where they feel comfortable, relaxed, love their images, and excited to share them with their friends and business networks.

We promise you’ll walk away with a set of photos you love. During the shoot, I will give you very specific direction to ensure you look confident, approachable, and experienced. I will even show you the images as the session progresses to make sure you like the way they’re coming out. And if for any reason you’re not happy and there’s nothing we can do to fix it, we promise to refund you in full.

Frequency Asked Question
For Senior Sessions

I suggest scheduling anywhere from 1 to 4 months in advance. If you would like your photos taken for fall in September through November, I recommend contacting me as soon as possible to get the best slots! Session time slots for those months tend to book the fastest! Spring March thru early May is also a very busy time, so book early.

Sessions usually take place on a weekday evening, two hours of sunset. This is when the best golden light is. These exact times vary throughout the year based on the season! During the summer, when the days are longer, our session will begin later (beginning as late as 7:00PM). During the fall the evening session will be earlier in the evening (closer to 4:00/4:30PM).

Your session time will depend on the session you choose, they will typically last between 1-4  hours!  This is from the moment we meet up at the set location, look through your outfits and start shooting!

I have a variety of options as far as outdoor and urban locations, but if you have a specific place, you’d love to have your senior session done, then I’m totally open to shooting wherever you’d like! We can discuss this in our pre-session consultation.

Feel free to bring your Mom, a friend or a sibling. Sometimes it’s nice to have someone come along to make you laugh and help you carry everything.

Your session fee is due at the time of your appointment.

Currently I accept venmo and paypal. If we meet in person I can accept cash before our session starts.

There’s a simple answer. Wear what makes you feel good and most like yourself.

When it’s time for the shoot, bring a variety of clothes to choose from. Get creative! Bring hats, cool shoes, boots, jackets, jewelry, scarves— you name it! Got an awesome prom dress or tux? Feel free to bring that, too. If you’re unsure about something, bring it anyway.

What to avoid:
  • Wrinkled clothing — make sure to iron or steam everything and bring it all on hangers
  • Undergarments that don’t match or bra straps that show
  • Shirts with any type of logo or bold prints
  • Dresses, skirts or shorts that are too short, it will inhibit moving/posing

Absolutely! Bring props to the shoot that are meaningful to you. We can work with your uniforms, musical instruments, sports equipment. We want to make your pictures an expression of who you are right now, and these activities are part of your identity.

I generally have your images ready for viewing within two to three weeks of our session during a high period. I will upload them to a gallery for you to view and order. I always suggest making a favorites file online and then make an appointment to place your order in person. This allows us to discuss cropping and retouching options with you.

Of course!  This is a great idea to get your entire family involved. Your daughter or son is graduating from High school or college, so what better time than now to get updated family portraits done before they venture out on their own.  I offer special add-on packages for this type of session. Please contact me for more details.

Frequency Asked Question
For Family Sessions

I am a very relaxed person, and I want everyone else to be relaxed as well. I want you to have fun with one another! I want you to laugh, cuddle and play with one another!    During the session, I might guide you with different poses, but I mostly want you to be yourself and do what comes naturally.

Sessions typically last 45–60 minutes depending on what session you have purchased. That gives us plenty of time to get a mix of posed and candid shots, take breaks for little ones, and keep the energy fun and relaxed.

Totally normal—and totally okay! They are kids. I have lots of tricks to keep kids engaged, and I never expect perfect behavior. Some of the best photos come from natural, in-between moments. Let them be themselves and we’ll capture the joy and true personality of your family.

Of course, your pet is part of your family. Just let me know ahead of time so I can plan accordingly.  Props like blankets, books, or toys can make your photos feel personal and fun.

If you want to include grandparents and other relatives. All are welcome during the time frame of your selected session. You might need a longer session, such as 1 hour to include group shots as well as smaller family combinations. Let me know how many people you’re planning to include so I can customize your session.

First and foremost, be yourself. Coordinate, don’t match: Avoid everyone in identical outfits (like all white shirts and jeans) unless it’s a specific aesthetic you’re going for. Instead, pick a color palette with 2–4 complementary tones. Neutrals + Pop of Color: Beige, ivory, gray, soft blue, with a pop like mustard or rust. Pastels: Blush, soft mint, pale blue, ivory—great for spring shoots.

  • Parents: Go for solid colors or soft patterns. A well-fitting dress or blouse with jeans/slacks works well for moms. Dads can wear button-ups, henleys, or sweaters.

  • Kids: Keep them comfortable. Dresses with little cardigans, suspenders, or fun layers add personality.

  • Babies: Soft textures like knit or linen photograph beautifully.

Absolutely! Your family photo session should reflect your unique style and personality. Prior to your session, we’ll discuss your preferences and ideas, and I’ll do my best to accommodate any special requests you may have. I love incorporating places that are important to you are and your family. I even travel (added fee).

What’s the MOST important thing you can do to ensure you have a great family photo session? If you only do one thing, get your family on board and keep it positive! Talk up how much fun it will be. Take the day before your session easy, so no one is overtired. Your positive, relaxed approach to the photo session will reflect in the photos!
